Safety Message
March 8, 2013
Notes to the Troops:
WE ARE ALL SAFETY OFFICERS
This bulletin is in regards to PP&E and Biohazards exposure.
We wear different types of protective clothing to many different types of calls throughout the year. Protective clothing in vehicle accidents and medical aids to name a couple. It is important to check your uniform/turnouts after these types of calls where you may have contracted some biohazardous materials on your uniform/turnouts. If this is the case, it is important to decontaminate your uniform/turnouts as soon as possible. If you have biohazardous material on your turnouts and need a loaner pair so you can wash/decontaminate your gear, contact the Duty Officer. We do not want you to leave your equipment in this condition for any amount of time. If you have contracted biohazardous material on your uniform, you should wash it as soon as possible. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to ask. Please look for an Operational Directive to come out soon on this topic.
Thank You!!
