The Wilton Fire Protection District has a service area of 60 square miles in Sacramento County, California. The district is located approximately 23 miles southeast of Sacramento, California. The department has a total fire-fighting force of 63 members that respond out of three fire stations and one satellite fire station to ensure effective deployment of apparatus and manpower to any type of emergency incident within the district. The Wilton Fire Protection District participates as part of the Sacramento Regional Fire/EMS Communications System; such that automatic aid and mutual aid are streamlined with neighboring fire service agencies.
Fire Station #81 (headquarters) is staffed 24 hours a day 365 days a year through a Shift Staffing Program with a Company Officer and three Firefighters. The department maintains both a Firefighter 1 and Basic Life Support (BLS) level of training for the on-duty shift. Fire Station #84 is staffed all year with a Company Officer and Firefighter 12 hours per day. Fire Stations: #82 and #83 are unstaffed.
The level of medical training by department personnel includes First-Responder, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic (ALS), Sacramento County.
